Description:

Metallix is a high-energy, general effect–focused production that explores the many ways metal can be expressed both musically and visually. A strong rhythmic drive and infectious grooves serve as a consistent throughline throughout the show. In contrast—or sometimes in collaboration with these textures—powerful brass statements and shimmering woodwind colors pull the audience out of the percussion-driven moments and into a more reflective, polished metallic soundscape.

Visually, this aesthetic can be reinforced through highly reflective elements such as guard flags or uniform accents that capture and manipulate light. The open-ended nature of Metallix allows the concept to be easily scaled for ensembles of any size, offering the flexibility to incorporate large-scale props and metallic sound sources or to achieve maximum impact through a more minimal and refined design approach.

This show features Mahlers Symphony 2 which is in the public domain and features a Flute solo in mvt 1 and a Low Brass chamber choir in mvt 2.

Metallix was originally commissioned for the fall of 2025 and was released for the 2026 season
